Ferrari 330 P4

The Ferrari 330 P4 was the works team's main car for the 1967 Sportscar season. They scored a huge win at Daytona, and while they blew off Sebring and other events, they also won at Monza. At Le Mans, they took 2nd and 3rd place, but this only meant they were merely victims of Dan Gurney's now-famous "champagne assault"...

While I was putting this list together, I was surprised to fin that Jackie Stewart had raced this car for the Ferrari works team at Brands Hatch. Was that his only Ferrari drive ever?

As far as diecast cars go, this has been done by the usual second-rate european brands. Bang and Brumm have their requisite sloppy units, and Joeuf has a similar one in their budget "serie legend" line. But there are the other, high detail Jouef units. The top-of-the-line is the velvet-boxed Jouef Daytona winner. There are two other similar "presentation" units in red and yellow with the same detail but no race markings.

The recent Altaya line suggests that there will be an IXO version of this car, and there are mysterious lots on eBay for "IXO" Ferrari P4's without boxes. This usually means QA rejects or test runs
